Outline and scope:

DNA sequencing technology is currently developing very fast with new instruments and new approaches being launched every year.

Now, an individual lab can resequence 1000 large genomes in a year.

In this seminar, we will look at existing and emerging sequencing technologies and will discuss some of the algorithmic and computational

challenges posed by these advances.

Presentation topics will include current trends in:

  • DNA sequencing technology
  • assembly strategies
  • different assembly tools
  • etc.

Literature for the different presentations are up-to-date scientific reviews and articles which will be provided to the speakers.

Further autonomous literature search is expected.

Each speaker will hold a ~40 min talk and present the relevant results to all participants.

Presentations will be given in English.

To sign up for this seminar please send an email to Juliane D. Klein.
