``Introduction to Phylogenetics''
6.-7.  October 2003 in A301, Sand 14

This two day intensive introduction to phylogenetics will take place on October 6 and 7. It will consist of four sections:

6. October, 8-12h: Phylogenetic trees
6. October, 14-18h: Whole genome-based phylogeny
7. October, 8-12h: Phylogenetic networks
7. October, 14-18h Introduction to available software

Anyone interested in this subject is welcome to participate. The course is particularly suitable for bioinformatics students in their 5th or higher semester. They will receive one SWS credit towards "Practical Informatics".

This course is part of a joint Erasmus exchange with the Linaeus Center for Bioinformatics in Uppsala, Sweden and theCenter for Bioinformatics Tübingen (ZBIT). It will be taught (in English) by Prof. Daniel Huson, Dr. Kay Nieselt-Struwe, Prof. Vincent Moulton (Uppsala) and Dr. Barbara Holland (Massey University, New Zealand).
