Comparative viewer for phylogenetic trees

In evolutionary studies, the task often is to compare two different phylogenetic trees on the same dataset, for example when comparing the phylogenies of hosts and parasites, or different gene trees. The aim of this thesis is to develop a tangle-gram viewer that draws two trees opposite or inside of each other, in such a way
that the correspondence between taxa in both trees becomes very clear.
Different algorithms are already implemented for drawing the trees
and the viewer will be implemented as part of the Dendroscope software
(www.dendroscope.org).

This thesis will be supervised by the Huson lab (Uni Tuebingen)
