CGViz via Java Web Start
CGViz - a highly configurable viewer for biomolecular data
Deployment via Java Web Start
This is the deployment site for CGViz using Java Web
Start Technology.
If you have installed Java Web Start (which normally happens automatically during installation of your java runtime)
then you should be able to launch CGViz by clicking on any of the screenshots below. In the unlikely case that this fails,
please refer to the Java Web
Start FAQ which include download and installation instructions.
Note that you can peek into your local Java Web Start Cache by typing "javaws" on the console. Using "javaws" you can
also create desktop icons and start menue shortcuts for browser-independent startup of the Java Web Start deployed CGViz.
Furthermore, you may also start any Java Web Start applications directly from the console by typing
"javaws ‹URL›"
(e.g. "javaws http://www-ab.informatik.uni-tuebingen.de/webstart/CGViz/cgviz.jnlp").
CGViz is a visualization and exploration engine for genomics data which is usually configured at start up to provide
some specific functionality. Here we provide some simple examples of tools and visualizations based on CGViz, and the unconfigured viewer .This is work in progress and currently everything is at an experimental stage.
Examples of tools based on CGViz:
OSLay
CGViz configured as a tool for comparing different assemblies of the
same or related genomes
Examples of
visualizations produced using CGViz:
comparison of two bacterial genome sequences
human-on-mouse synteny example
